The AMIR Fund for Education, Science and Technology has signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Junior and Senior schools of African Church Grammar School, Abeokuta, formally reviving the school's long-standing prize-giving tradition. The agreements were signed through First Trustees, the Fund's corporate trustee.

At the Prize Giving Day held on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, outstanding students and a dedicated teacher received cash prizes and gifts. Prizes went to the best students in key subjects across the senior classes, to the overall best students in SS1 and SS2, to the student with the highest JAMB score, and to the best teacher of the year. The Junior School also honoured its best students in selected subjects. Students received school bags, textbooks, past questions and certificates of merit.

By September 2025 the Fund had supported 56 beneficiaries across its programmes.

The Principal of the Senior School, Mr Samson Adekunte, described the initiative as “a good way to encourage students and inspire teachers to continue striving for excellence.”

AMIR Fund founder and school alumnus Ridwan Sorunke recalled his own time as a student more than 18 years ago. “When I discovered this ceremony had stopped, I felt something valuable was missing. That is why I wanted to help bring it back, because this tradition profoundly impacted my generation,” he said.

The partnership strengthens the bond between the school and a former student who has returned to invest in the community that shaped his early life.
